The Gate

Widely acclaimed, Grammy award winning, Chicago based vocalist Kurt Elling released a new CD, The Gate, on Tuesday of this week.

After work on Tuesday, I went to three CD stores in downtown Chicago, including my beloved Jazz Record Mart. Not one had a copy of the new CD.

Have CDs really become that old fashioned that quickly? I would think that brick-and-mortar CD stores, struggling to survive, would be on top of the new releases.
