オコーヒー

Martin, our 20 month old son, loves coffee. Yes, that's right, coffee.

Whenever Maria or I have a cup of coffee, Martin begs shamelessly for some. "O Coffee! O Coffee!" He has a habit now of attaching an "O" to names of things he likes. It's very much like the honorific "O" prefix in Japanese (オ in Katakana).

It is remarkable how different two kids of the same parents can be. Ella's tastes are very limited, and she doesn't like most fruit at all. She will be a meat-and-potatoes girl. Meanwhile, Martin loves fruit. He inhales bananas, strawberries and grapes. He will try almost anything, including coffee. It appears he may not like meat very much.
