I recently completed an inventory of my CDs. I admit I am a little OC about them, but the truth is some of them walk away. On at least two occasions, some of them have simply vanished. I can't say for sure how or who or exactly when, cause they're in the basement now and I don't see them for weeks sometimes. So having completed the ripping of the majority of the collection, I printed a list of albums from my iTunes and checked to see if they were all there. Thankfully no more turned up missing.
But the puzzling thing now is the few CDs that I thought I had ripped but hadn't. They include:
- Steely Dan, Katy Lied (which is desert-island good)
- Bob Marley and the Wailers, Live! (ditto)
- Peter Cincotti
The last one is merely OK, but of sentimental value - the last email I ever got from my Dad was to say how much he liked Cincotti (21 Apr 2003):
I'm probably the last person to have discovered jazz pianist/vocalist Peter Cincotti. He has just appeared on this morning's Today Show. Listen to him when you get a chance.
